The potential dangers of electromagnetic fields and their effect on the environment

Background: It must be said that, since some of these new technologies were first introduced, environmental or health problems have emerged and become a topic of discussion in certain countries, both in scientific circles and in the field of health and occupational medicine. From the 1930’s onwards, radar waves were linked to certain “microwave syndromes” among operators and technicians subjected to intensive and prolonged exposure. The former USSR and Eastern bloc countries adopted very low preventive thresholds aimed at protecting operators health.

Conclusion: After analyzing the scientific studies available to date, and also following the hearings for expert opinions organized in the context of the Committee on the Environment, Agriculture and Local and Regional Affairs, there is sufficient evidence of potentially harmful effects of electromagnetic fields on fauna, flora and fauna health to react and to guard against potentially serious environmental and health hazards.
